           „New informationtechnologies andtourism productsfor cross-border tourism development” Projectis implementing by Vidin Chamber of commerce and industry in partnership with“Regional agency for development of Eastern Serbia”from town Zajecar, Serbia and“Association from encouraging of tourism – Vidin”, Bulgaria.

ProjectisfundedontheSecondcallunderCBCprogrammeoftheInstrumentforpre-accessionaid (IPA) between Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Serbia, with programme numberCCINumber 2007CB16IPO006. ProjectOverallobjectiveisbymeansofthecross-bordercooperationbetweencompaniesandinstitutionsfromtheregioninthefieldoftourismtocreate,promote and exploit new tourist products, representing the integrated cross-border area as a competitive destination.

Specific objectivesof the project are:

  • Improvement of the access to tourist information and services;
  • Improvement of cooperation between companies and institutions in tourism sector;
  • Creatingsuccessfulmodelforcross-bordercooperationbetweencompaniesandinstitutionsintouristsector that can be multiply in other sectors of economy.
  • Arrangingroundtableandexchangeexperiencefor the competitiveness of tourist offers from Serbia and Bulgaria;
  • Developmentthreenewtouristproductsthefollowingtopics: “On the steps of the Romans”, “The taste of the Western Balkans” and “The beauty of the nature”;
  • Placing 12 Nos. Informationkiosksinthetargetregion, containing tourist information for Vidin, Zajecar and Bor regions;
  • ProducingandbroadcastingtouristTVchannelsthreeshortdocumentaries for the most interesting tourist sites from the three regions;
  • Development and distribution of tri-lingual leaflet with information about the newly created tourist products;
  • Organizing of five-day promotional tour in the target cross-border region with representatives from tour-operators and travel agencies from Serbia and Bulgaria.
  • Local authorities from the target region;
  • SMEsector, which is included in the tourist industry from both sides of the border (hotels, restaurants, tourist services, souvenir producers);
  • People employed in tourism from both sides of the border;
  • Tourists, visiting the target region;
  • Local people from both sides of the border.
